Increase in Monthly Service Charge
January 31, 2023
Dear valued member,
As the President of King Creek Water Supply Corporation (KCWSC), I am writing to you today on behalf of the Board of Directors to address a matter of great importance to our membership. Over the past 10 years, we have remained dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality water services at a reasonable cost. However, the ongoing effects of the pandemic and current economic climate have placed significant pressure on our budget and operations.
After much consideration and review, the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to implement an increase in the service charge to fund necessary capital improvements. Our current service fee of $5 per month will be increased by $7, bringing the new rate to $12 per month. While this increase may be a burden for some customers, it is necessary to ensure the continued reliability and safety of our water supply.
The current economic effects from inflation, including rising prices for materials and labor, have made it increasingly difficult to maintain our infrastructure and operations without additional funding. These capital improvements are critical for the long-term success of our WSC, including replacing and upgrading aging infrastructure and complying with new government regulations.
The Board of Directors understands that an increase in the service charge may be concerning for our members, especially in the current economic climate. However, after 10 years without a rate increase, it is necessary to gather the funds to make these important improvements. Our WSC is committed to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality water services to all customers, and the increase in service charge is necessary to achieve this goal.
In conclusion, I would like to remind you that as a member of King Creek WSC you are an investor in the corporation. The Board of Directors are confident that this fee increase supporting capital improvements will lead to long-term cost savings and ensure the sustainability of our water supply as a sound investment for all members. The Board of Directors and I remain committed to serving the membership and providing the best possible water services.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Eubanks, President
King Creek Water Supply Corporation
