High Winds May Lead To Electric and Water Service Outages & Fires

High winds are expected across Texas on Friday which increase the risk of power outages that could lead to loss of water supply and fires.
HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT /1 AM CDT/ TONIGHT... ...BLOWING DUST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM MDT /7 AM CDT/ THIS MORNING TO 8 PM MDT /9 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING
* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, west winds 40 to 50 mph with
gusts up to 75 mph. For the Blowing Dust Advisory, visibility
between one-quarter and one mile in blowing dust expected.
* WHERE...Southeast New Mexico plains, Loving, Van Horn and Highway
54 Corridor, Eastern Culberson, Reeves County Plains, and Davis
Mountains Foothills.
* WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, until midnight MDT /1 AM CDT/
tonight. For the Blowing Dust Advisory, from 6 AM MDT /7 AM CDT/
this morning to 8 PM MDT /9 PM CDT/ this evening.
* IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility.
In addition to reduced visibility, strong winds will be hazardous
to trailers and other high-profile vehicles. Travel will be
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles like campers,
vans, and tractor trailers.
